About

Scealia makes digital proof
accessible.

Everyone produces photos, videos and recordings every day. Few hold up before a court. Scealia corrects this imbalance, without entrusting your files to a third party and without prior technical knowledge.

Files can be altered, metadata rewritten, copies confused with originals. The rise of artificial intelligence now makes it possible to generate undetectable forgeries. Until now, only those who knew how to build evidence, or could afford to have it recorded, could truly defend themselves. We are changing that.

Our mission

To establish, in seconds, proof that is enforceable across the European Union, at a fair cost, within a sovereign framework, without ever giving up the confidentiality of your files.

Our vision

A file's evidential value should never depend on the means or expertise of the person who produces it. We are building an accessible standard, not a privilege.

We want "run it through Scealia" to become as natural, in everyday life, as a registered letter has been for a century.

The founding team

Scealia is led by two co-founders, trainee lawyers and a doctor in computer science, who together hold the dual expertise the project demands: legal expertise, notably in the rules of evidence, and technical expertise in cryptographic architectures and decentralised systems.

Digital proof sits at the boundary of two disciplines that rarely speak to each other: the law of evidence, governed notably by Articles 1353 et seq. of the Civil Code and by the eIDAS Regulation, and cryptography, on which a file's integrity and the enforceability of its timestamp depend. This project required two profiles able to hold both ends of that chain, without an intermediary.
